Commemorating the Legacy of Imam Zainul Abideen (as)

Please join us on Thursday, November 20, 2014, for a special program to commemorate the legacy of Imam Zainul Abideen (as) at IECOC. The program will begin at 7 pm with Maghrib prayers, followed by an English lecture by Sayed Hadi al-Qazwini, where he will outline the role that our 4th Imam played in continuing the message of his father Imam Hussain (as) in standing up against oppression, injustice, and tyranny, as well as some of the outstanding characteristics of the Imam’s life.
Imam Zainul Abideen (as) was known for his outstanding worship and unmatched kindness to all, especially those who were in need. Often, the Imam would leave his home in the night and secretly distribute food and money to those who were less fortunate. It is widely known that after the Imam’s departure from this world, the marks of the heavy bags that he would carry on his shoulders remained on his pure body.
It has been narrated that there were many poor people who would approach Imam Zainul Abideen (as) requesting help, and before they even asked for anything, Imam would give them what they wanted.Imam Zainul Abideen (as) would then say, “Giving charity is received by Allah (swt) before it is received by the poor.”
