On Thursday, August 3rd, the IECOC will be celebrating the birth of Imam al-Ridha (as). The program will began at sunset, like the regular weekly program.
Imam Ali bin Musa Ridha was born on the 11th Dhul-Qida in the year 148 AH in Medina. He is the 8th Imam and successor to the Prophet in the Ahlulbayt school of thought.
Among the highlights of his service to Islam where his debates with scholars of different faiths, schools of thought, and sciences. Many of these debates were recorded and may be found in books of Hadith.
His tomb is located in Mashhad and is visited by millions of visitors annually.
