Shia Muslim Council would like to offer condolences to you and your respected members on the arrival of the holy month of Muharram and commemoration of martyrdom of Imam Hussai n(a.s) and his family. Attached please review with your members the information collected by individuals who saw the moon with their naked eyes, therefore Saturday, October 25th marks the first day of Muharram 1436. A majority of the centers in Los Angeles have declared Saturday, October 25th as the first day of Muharram therefore Ashura will be observed on Monday Nov 3rd, 2014.
