Join us at the IECOC as we hold our annual Ashura Program every night from Monday, September 10th to Friday, September 21st.
The program will begin nightly at 7:15 with Maghrib prayers, followed by Qur’an recitation and and English lecture by the Honorable Sayed Mohammad Baqer al-Qazwini from the Islamic Seminary in Qum. The lecture will be followed by lamentation in English and dinner.

Ashura marks the event in which Imam Husayn bin Ali (as), along with a group of his family members and close supporters, gave their lives to save the Message of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Every year, Ashura is commemorated to remind the Muslim community of the commitment Imam Husayn (as) had to his faith, his family, his community, and for humanity at large.
