IECOC invites you and your families to join us in celebration of Eid al-Ghadeer on Saturday, October 11, 2014. The program will begin at 7 pm with Maghrib prayers, followed by poetry, weekend school presentations, youth lecture, and keynote address by Imam Sayed Moustafa al-Qazwini.
Eid al-Ghadeer marks the occasion of the appointment of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (pbuh) as the Holy Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh&hf) successor. It is the day in which God revealed the verse: “Today, I have perfected your religion for you, completed my favor upon you, and accepted for you Islam as a religion” (5:3).
On this blessed occasion, we pray to our Lord to bring peace and stability to the global Muslim community, and to strengthen our resolve and determination in the pursuit of truth, justice, equity, and compassion.
