On Saturday, December 17th, the IECOC celebrated the Births of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (as). It was a full house event which included guest speakers, The Most Reverend Kevin Vann, Bishop of Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange, who emphasized on unity between our communities. Dr. Qazwini spoke on what Prophets Jesus (as) and Muhammad (pbuh) taught in common. Guest speaker Imam Jihad Saafir spoke on the activities of Masjid Ibadillah and the Islah Academy in the same regard. The event was a great success and a step forward in inter- and intra-faith relations.
Accompanying Bishop Vann were Father Quan Tran, Episcopal Vicar of Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs at the Diocese of Orange, and Father John Monestero.
