بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
In the Name of Allah, the Benificent, the Merciful
Assalaamu alaykum,
IECOC wishes you and your families a blessed Eid al-Adha.
Eid al-Adha marks the completion of the Hajj pilgrimage, which celebrates the great struggles and sacrifices of Prophets Abraham (pbuh) and Ishmael (pbuh). It is also a time in which Muslims are encouraged to stand in solidarity with those who are in need and the most vulnerable in society.
While as Muslims we celebrate this joyous occasion with friends and family members, our hearts also go out to our fellow Americans who have been affected by the unprecedented and catastrophic floods brought about by Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Louisiana. Reports suggest that many have died and that thousands have had to evacuate their homes, while others are still stranded and waiting to be rescued.
The Qur’an reminds us that saving one life is equal to saving all of humanity in the eyes of God (5:32). On this day of Eid al-Adha, let us contribute to the rescue and relief efforts for the victims of Hurricane Harvey by giving what we can.
IECOC encourages you to contribute generously to the various reputable relief funds, such as the Red Cross and others. IECOC is also accepting contributions, which will go toward relief efforts for the victims of Hurricane Harvey. May Allah bless and protect us all.
